It was another .500 weekend for the Niagara Predators, their second in a row in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League.

Thomas McGrath, seen in a recent home game, scored his first two GMHL goals Sunday in an away game against the Streetsville Flyers, a 5-4 win for the Preds.

Losses to North York on Friday and Durham on Monday have dropped the Niagara Predators record to 3-and-5 on the season and stretched their Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL) losing streak to four in a row.

After rolling out three wins in a row after a loss in their Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL) opener, the Niagara Predators had a turkey of a weekend this Thanksgiving, dropping two decisions.

With two wins this past weekend for the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League’s (GMHL) Niagara Predators, there’s lots for head coach Kevin Taylor to be happy about.

After a slow start, the Niagara Predators cruised to a 6-3 victory over the visiting Northumberland Stars to win their home opener Friday in their second season at Virgil’s Meridian Credit Union Arena.

Coach Mark Klassen, golfers Ricky Watson, Marc Forbes, Evan Caughey, Brad Neudorf and Mark Hicks, with coaches Billy Simkin and Ken Riediger. The golfers are being recognized now for back-to-back wins in 2007, when they were NDSS students.
