Tourism Niagara seeking Board Directors

Are you someone with ties to the Niagara-on-the-Lake community, who is passionate and enthusiastic about the tourism opportunities in that beautiful area?

If you are that person, Tourism Partnership Niagara (TPN/RTO2) is looking for you!

TPN is currently recruiting for two Niagara-on-the-Lake members to join the organization’s Board of Directors, according to a spokesperson.

“We are looking for people from that area who have familiarity, excitement about, and working knowledge of the tourism products offered, such as: Accommodations, Attractions, Arts/ Culture/ Heritage, Culinary, Wineries and Craft Beverages, Education/ Academic, Festivals, Events, Meetings & Conventions, Travel Trade, Indigenous/ First Nations, Retail, Sport, Transportation, Tourism Industry Suppliers and Associations,” said the spokesperson.

TPN is responsible for marketing the Niagara Region as a world-class, four-season travel destination to domestic and international markets.

“The Board of Directors of the Tourism Partnership of Niagara (TPN) acts as the organization’s highest level of decision-making and holds the ultimate authority over the legal entity of the organization and its well-being,” the spokesperson explained.

According to the spokesperson, Directors are appointed to the board and oversee the management of the corporation. Directors must have the required skills, knowledge, experience, capabilities, and behavioural competencies to enable the TPN to meet its objectives. The Board of Directors sets long term policy and direction for the organization.

“Being on the board of the TPN is an opportunity for someone to drive and support tourism and its related businesses in our region,” said the spokesperson. “It is really a chance to be an ambassador for our area. We sincerely hope we can get some great candidates from the Niagara-on-the-Lake region for these two special roles.”
