Victim suffers life-threatening injuries in Welland stabbing

Detectives are actively working to get a description of those involved

On Monday, March 18, 2024 at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Leaside Drive and Woodlawn Road in Welland regarding a stabbing.

Investigation revealed that an adult male had entered a dispute with two males and one male had been stabbed as a result. Niagara Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and assessed the male victim. He was transported to an out of region hospital by ORNGE with life-threatening injuries. The victim is now in stable condition.

It is in the early stages of the investigation and it remains ongoing by detectives, who are actively working to get a description of the suspect/s.
