Suspect arrested for Canadian Tire gas station robbery

Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) have identified and arrested the suspect who allegedly stole money from a Canadian Tire gas station in St. Catharines on Dec. 28.

According to police, the suspect entered the gas station and demanded money, threatening the staff with a knife but not showing it.

He received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area. 

On Dec. 29, he was arrested and charged with robbery.

The investigation into the Dec. 28, 2022 robbery of a St. Catharines Canadian Tire gas station has been ongoing by 1 District – St. Catharines/Thorold detectives.

A suspect was identified, and on Dec. 29 he was arrested in St. Catharines.

Daniele Roberto Sforza, 48, of St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

Sforza was held in custody for a video bail hearing on Jan. 3, 2023, at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
