Niagara Falls motel bust nets $44K worth of drugs; two arrested

Niagara Falls police, armed with a search warrant, seized more than $44,000 in drugs and arrested two people at a motel room on Lundy's Lane between Kalar and Montrose roads on Jan. 3, according to a news release.

Street crime detectives had begun an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs in the city earlier in the month. As a result of that probe, two are now in custody and detectives recovered 180 grams of fentanyl, 485 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 56 grams of cocaine, and 473 grams of marijuana.  The combined estimated value of all seized drugs is $44,250.  In addition, detectives also seized $1,235 of Canadian currency believed to be acquired through the proceeds of crime.

Gord Angelo Collucci, 53, of Niagara Falls has been arrested and faces the following criminal charges:

  •  Possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  •  Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  •  Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing
  •  Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  •  Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

Loretta Montgomery, 63, of Niagara Falls has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing
  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking 
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

Both have been released on Form 10 undertakings.They are scheduled to attend court on March 9 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
