Man charged after police seize $500K in drugs

Niagara Police say they seized fentanyl, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and a hand gun during the search of a St. Catharines residence

In February of 2024, detectives with the 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Street Crime unit commenced an investigation into the illegal sale of drugs by a suspect in the City of St. Catharines.

As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify a male suspect.

On February 22, 2024, at approximately 2:40pm a vehicle stop was conducted by detectives in the area of Vine Street and Scott Street in the City of St. Catharines and the suspect was arrested. The suspect was found to be in possession of:

  • $1,080 Canadian Currency
  • 35 grams (0.036 kilos)of crack cocaine
  • 35 grams (0.036 kilos) of fentanyl
  • 15 grams (0.015 kilos) of crystal methamphetamine

Detectives also executed a warrant at a residence in the area of Glengarry Road and Glendale Avenue in the City of St. Catharines and seized the following:

  • 1,100.7 grams (1.1007 kilos) of fentanyl
  • 355 grams (0.355 kilos) of cocaine
  • 1,900.28 grams (1.90028 kilos) of crystal methamphetamine
  • a loaded Glock 27 40 calibre handgun with 9 rounds of ammunition
  • The street value of the seized drugs is estimated at $503,000.00

Treyvond Dorma (28 years old) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Traffic in schedule I substance to wit: Fentanyl (2 Counts)
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking to wit: Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking to wit: Crystal Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime over $5,000
  • Possess restricted firearm without holding a license
  • Possess restricted firearm knowingly not holding a license
  • Possess restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order

Dorma was held in custody pending a video bail hearing that is expected to take place on February 23, 2024, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.
