JELBERT, Mary (nee Ciolfi)

It is with broken hearts that, after a short but courageous battle with ovarian cancer, the family announces the passing of Mary, surrounded by her loving family, at the Niagara Health System - St Catharines Site on Friday November 24th, 2023, in her 61st year.  Treasured and devoted wife for over 32 years to Stephen.  Cherished mother of Michael.   Mary will be deeply missed by her beloved mother Berardina Ciolfi (Passero), her brother Carmine (Norma) Ciolfi, sisters-in-law Allison (Tom) Kares, Kathryn Jelbert Cespite.  Aunt Mary will be missed by her nephews Christopher (Julia) Ciolfi, Nikolas Kares (Julia), Alexander Kares, Cole Cespite and niece Cassandra Cespite (Tyrone) and great nieces Kali and Kiana. Mary is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her deeply. Mary was predeceased by her father Ennio Ciolfi and her in-laws Austin and Gloria Jelbert.

A special thank you, to her sister-in-law Allison and her cousin Andrea, for making Mary comfortable the last few days and a big thank you to the Oncology Department and PCU at Niagara Health for their compassion given to Mary in her time of need.

In honouring Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Mass for Mary will take place December 9th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold. It will be followed by a Celebration of Life at Club Belvedere, 57 John Street, Thorold.
