HUDGIN, Sharon Lee (nee Weatherhead) (1951-2023)

Sharon Hudgin, a resilient and vibrant soul, passed away peacefully on November 21st, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, after living courageously with cancer for many years. She was 72.

A force to be reckoned with, Sharon was known for her stubborn yet endearing nature.

Born to Mildred (nee Walters) and the late Kenneth Weatherhead (1980), she was a devoted daughter.  Sharon inherited a determination that would shape her journey through the years, facing life's challenges with resilience, always embracing the joys it had to offer.  She was the beloved wife of Glen, for 49 years, and mother of Laura Lee (Ryan) Edge, Erin Catherine (Michael) Farrell and Jenny Ashton Hudgin (Matthew Kennelly).  Proud grandmother (Nanny) of Matthew, Julianna, Caleb, Maddox, Hudson, Ashton and Grace.  Sister of Diane (Bill) Johnson, Debbie Reeves, and half-sister, Caroline Weatherhead and the late Douglas (2003) (Debi) Weatherhead.  Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A fitness enthusiast, Sharon discovered joy in activities like aerobics, walking, and cross-country skiing.  Her commitment to a healthy lifestyle not only showcased her physical strength but also resonated with those around her, inspiring them through her passion for staying active.

However, Sharon's greatest joy in life was found in the company of her family and grandchildren.  She spent cherished moments with her husband, Glen, and daughters: Laura, Erin, and Jenny and their children.  Family gatherings were filled with laughter, shared stories and the simple joy of being together.

Humour was woven into the fabric of Sharon's character.  Even in her final days, she found moments of levity, sharing jokes with the doctors and nurses who tended to her.  Her ability to find humour in situations, coupled with her strength and resilience earned her the title of our real-life Super Woman.

As we say our goodbyes, let's honour the life of Sharon Hudgin - a remarkable woman whose captivating presence drew many into engaging conversations, a true testament to her magnetic charm.  May her memory serve as a source of strength and inspiration for all of us.

Rest in peace, dear Sharon.  Your legacy lives on in the hearts of those you touched with your love and indomitable spirit.

In honouring Sharon’s wishes cremation has taken place to be followed by a Celebration of Life at a later date.
