View from the Couch: A review of The Aristocrats

The Aristocrats (Apple TV+, 2012) looks at high society through the eyes of four historically prominent families, exploring their private lives and interpersonal relationships as they strive to preserve their family legacies.

The Aristocrats (Apple TV+, 2012) is a series of four hour-long episodes that provides in-depth investigations of the properties and lives of the Duke of Marlborough at Blenheim, the Earl of March at Goodwood, the Earl of Shaftesbury at St.Giles House and Baron Rothschild at Waddesdon Manor. These men, all with very different challenges, goals and ambitions, are fascinating and intelligent and take their responsibilities very seriously. The series provided me with valuable insights into the challenges faced by owners of some of the world's great houses.

Donald Combe is a retired English teacher who loves to go to the movies. Until he resumes going to theatres, he has graciously agreed to share his opinions, through "short and sweet" exclusives, of online series and movies for The Local.
