Ricky Rap: We're as sick as our secrets

Rick Mills speaks of lessons learned from volunteering to work with those fighting Parkinson's Disease through the Rock Steady Boxing program at White Oaks

Ricky Rap is a list of 10 thoughts and offerings from Niagara’s own Rick Mills. Retired from more than 30 years of management in the steel industry, he continues pastoral ministry here in town. Ricky Rap, he says, is intended to help us to believe in and laugh at ourselves.

1. Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, is worth the watch.

2. I now volunteer in what’s called the Rock Steady Boxing at The Club at White Oaks.

3. A program giving hope through non-contact boxing-based fitness to those suffering from Parkinson’s Disease.

4. During COVID lockdown Cathy and fellow trainers kept the program going through Zoom.

5. It was fun watching courageous people training virtually from their own homes.

6. Cathy didn't like the way our basement presented itself on screen.

7. She did a total renovation after COVID restrictions were lifted.

8. Thanks "a lot" ($$) Covid.😉

9. A life lesson from the movie… We're as sick as our secrets.

10. Watch it, you’ll understand.
