NOTL Skaters take home ribbons at multiple events

STAR 5 level skaters will move on to participate in the provincial series of competitions, vying for a spot in the Skate Ontario rankings

Members of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Skating Club experienced great success of the first 35 days of 2024. 

Carlee Bering kicked off the calendar year by receiving a Silver assessment in STAR 3 in the Muskoka Winter Whirl competition held Jan 5 to 7.

At the Provincial Series # 7 in Bowmanville, Alexx Hill placed fourth in STAR 8 and ninth in STAR 9; Ophelia Xie was first in STAR 7 O12 & fifth in STAR 8, Samantha Frydryk placed third in STAR 6; Darah Adeyiwola was 16th in STAR 5 U13; Katharine VanderKaay placed 12th in STAR 6; Jamie Doucet ended up 10th in STAR 5 O13; Abigail McCabe was fifth in STAR 5 U13; and Hailey Mitchell placed first in STAR 5 U10. All competed in the Provincial Series #7. The competition was held January 12 to 14.

Carlee Bering placed seventh in STAR 4 at the STAR 1-4 Norwich competition while Abigail McCabe placed fourth in STAR 5 U13 and Hailey Mitchell placed first in STAR 5 U10 at the Provincial Series # 9 event held in LaSalle the weekend of January 26 to 28

At the STAR 1-4 Mississauga Snowflake competition held February 2 to 4, Liza Butko achieved a Gold Assessment in STAR 3; Coco Allinotte placed fourth in STAR 4; Carlee Bering was seventh in STAR 4;  and Kayla Thwaites achieved a Silver Assessment in STAR 3.

The skaters competing at the STAR 5 level are participate in the Provincial Series of competition.  They are vying for a spot in the Skate Ontario rankings to compete at the Provincial Championships March 22 to 24 in Brampton. Hailey Mitchell in STAR 5 U10 and Samantha Frydryk in STAR 6 are currently in contention in their respective events.
