The Niagara and District Council of Women is holding its 105th annual general meeting via Zoom on April 19 at 7 p.m.

The panel presentation features two Niagara women and their work in organizations that help provide support to newcomers from other countries.

There are many grass roots organizations working to offer assistance when a need is identified in the community. This session features local women sharing their involvement through two community organizations that offer help to the diverse  and growing number of people moving into Niagara and in need of a wide variety of refugee and  immigrant settlement supports and services, a news release stated.

The speakers are Emily Kovacs, executive director of the Niagara Folks Arts Multicultural Centre and Janet Madume, executive director of the Welland Heritage Council and Multicultural Centre.
