Minerva Ward, CEO of the NOTL Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Niagara, and the chamber have parted ways.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake announced Tuesday that the chamber and president and CEO Minerva Ward were parting company.

"Ward has been an integral part of the organization’s journey and has made significant contributions in advancing the interests of our business and tourism community," said a news release to the NOTL town councillors and others. "The Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake thank Ms. Ward for her leadership and wishes her well in all future endeavors."

"While transitions like these can be challenging, we are embracing this opportunity for renewal and growth. And excited for fresh perspectives, innovative ideas and enhanced collaboration with our partners," board chair Andrew Niven told The Local. "We remain dedicated to supporting our local businesses, promoting tourism and enhancing the economic vitality of our community. Together we will continue to thrive and grow, building a strong and vibrant destination."

The board extended its gratitude to Ward or her service and dedication,” said Niven. “As we navigate this transition, we remain committed to delivering value to our team, partners, and community," he said in the news release.

The board of directors has initiated a search for an interim position and will work diligently to identify a candidate who possesses the vision, leadership, and expertise necessary to lead the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake until a permanent position is fulfilled, the news release said.

The chamber and Tourism NOTL "reaffirms its commitment to its partners and assures them that the organization remains focused on its mission and
strategic objectives."
