On Monday, Sept. 23, 2024 at 9 p.m., Niagara Regional Police Service officers attended the Esso Gas Station located at 1000 Ontario Road in the City of Welland for a belated robbery call for service.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Sept. 23, a male suspect had entered the Esso, brandished a knife and demanded cash from the register. The employee refused and the suspect then left the store.

There were no physical injuries as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • White
  • Gray/black hair
  • Wearing a Green Shirt pulled over his head, grey slip on shoes and a yellow reusable grocery bag

Detectives are looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
