Charles “Charlie” William Martin of St. Catharines, Ontario, passed away at the age of 80 years on January 26, 2023 at home, surrounded by his family and at peace, after a short but mighty battle with cancer.

Charlie was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario to George and Vera Martin and he spent most of his working life involved in sales and sales management in the heating and air conditioning industry.  His infectious laugh and big personality made him a natural born salesperson who was trusted and loved by co-workers and customers.

Throughout his life and especially in retirement, he enjoyed golf, horse racing, baseball, football and looking after his home.  An avid Cleveland Browns, Toronto Blue Jays and LA Dodgers fan going back to his youth.  He loved music and could frequently be heard singing along to “the oldies”.  He also enjoyed road trips and adventures, checking ballparks and racetracks off his “visit list”.  Some of his favorite recent times were spent with “the gang” at Fort Erie Racetrack where he also had lifelong memories with his parents, kids, grandkids and friends. Charlie’s biggest love in life was his two daughters and his grandkids who brought him a great deal of pleasure and pride.  He always said they were his biggest accomplishment in life.

Charlie was predeceased by his parents George and Vera Martin.  He is survived by his daughters, Lindsay and Kelsey (Matt) grandkids Kenzie and Miller, sister, Nancy Pelletier, and his niece, Lori (Guy), and nephew, Chris (Jessica), and their families.

As per his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral service.  His family does invite those who wish to share their memories to an open house at his home between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023.  Please contact Lindsay or Kelsey for further details if needed.

Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144.  Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
