Niagara-on-the-Lake Local received the following letter about town council voting itself a raise.
Regarding a raise for our eight council members: the raise is almost 24 per cent. Seems too high. And that makes an extra $30,336 from the budget.
I find it odd that they failed to mention Wainfleet numbers, where the council members are paid less.
Who do our council members think they are that they can give themselves a raise? We did not condone that when we voted for them.
